One major change that followed the events of 9/11 was airport security being intensified, and the world's views on Muslims. First, airport security before 9/11 was not very protective. There have been many large changes since the events of 9/11 for the safety of all passengers. All are important to prevent any further attacks. To prove this point, Isaac Yeffet states "As the head of security for an airline, I can't ask my passengers to risk their lives and jump on a terrorist". Adama Bah restates her accounts on Muslim racism after 9/11 by saying "At that time, we covered our faces. I couldn't believe the looks. Everybody was scared, pointing. We got extra screenings, our bags were checked, we got pulled to the side. I've never had racism directed toward me before.". These accounts were shared by many Muslims in the world. |
